Bill & Ted’s Excellent Fish Adventure!

Over the past few months, there has been an abundance of high quality goldfish being imported into fish stores across the Greater Toronto Area. These grade A, AA & AAA goldfish are coming from various farms in China, Thailand and Singapore.

A few weeks ago, my cousin Billy Tai and I ventured out to a number of fish stores across the Greater Toronto Area. We have been doing this ‘fish store adventure’ for over 25 years now and we always have a great time. Sometimes we come home with a number of show quality specimens while other times are a complete bust. You just never know! However, the main difference now is that we sometimes have our daughters with us along for the trip.

On this ‘excellent adventure’ we saw many different sizes and colours of goldfish. These varieties include Oranda, Wakin, Telescope Butterfly Tail, Ranchu (side view), Celestial, Bubble Eyes, Traditional Pearlscale, Crown Pearlscale, Lionhead, Ryukin and Shubunkins. In the past we have also seen Jikin, Tosakin and Phoenix egg fish.

While there are quite a few fish and pet stores in the Greater Toronto Area, below is a comprehensive list of fish stores that frequently import high quality goldfish and are definitely worth a visit.
