The Goldfish Council’s 2023 Grow Out Competition!!!

A Side-View Ranchu - Classic Chinese Style bred here in the USA by Luminous Goldfish.

Top prize is a $100.00 Gift Certificate to Luminous Goldfish, other prizes include beautiful goldfish decor.


Registration and Timeline:

1. Registration will be on The Goldfish Council Website Event Please RSVP Here https://www.thegoldfishcouncil.org/event-details/the-goldfish-councils-2023-grow-out-competition . Registration is open Feb 10th,2023 until Feb 22nd, 2023.

2. Starting February 27th, the participating fish will be sent out to individual competitors by Luminous Goldfish.

3.The official competition time starts March 13th 2023 and it is when the starting pictures are due to thegoldfishcouncil@gmail.com.

4. Competition ends with a deadline of Sept 1st 2023, this is when all final photos must be submitted to thegoldfishcouncil@gmail.com.



Competition rules:

1. Must be a Bronze Patron or higher with TGC. You can become a patron here. https://www.thegoldfishcouncil.org/plans-pricing

2. To order your fish you must contact Asher Lu of Luminous via email asher500128@gmail.com with a subject line “The Goldfish Council’s 2023 Grow Out Competition”

3. Must submit 3 total pictures at both start and finish of the competition by the deadline stated above - 2 side view photos along with an additional side view picture including a ruler, measuring tape, or yard stick in inches next to the fish. Photos submitted to thegoldfishcouncil@gmail.com .

4. Awards will be announced Via Facebook Live in the Goldfish Council Chat in September. Exact date and time for the results will be announced about 2 weeks prior to the date.

5. Awards will be Given out for the following:

a. Best Overall Grooming - most impressive transformation ($100 Gift Certificate to Luminous Goldfish supplied by TGC)

b. Best Overall Growth - biggest growth (Goldfish Themed Award)

c. Best Overall Fish - Compared to TGC Standards (Goldfish Themed Award)

6. The final evaluation results are subject to the judges of The Goldfish Council

7. Any questions regarding the fish selection process, photo submissions, awards, Facebook live feeds should all be directed to Gary Hater, Founder of The Goldfish Council via Facebook Messenger.

8. Must live in one of the 48 continental US states to participate.


Competing fry:

1.The participating fry come from Luminous Goldfish. They are about 2 inches long, their colors are mainly Sakura and a small number of calico. The body shape and quality have been screened, and they show promise for future development for their current body length. They do not contain any eliminated (cull) fry.

2.Each participant will receive a Ranchu fry for free and need to pay the shipping and packaging fee of $58 US dollars + $4 Handling Fee (that covers PayPal and credit card fee).

3.If the contestant needs more fry to participate in the competition, they can buy them on the https://www.luminousgoldfish.com, they will be given a TGC discount from Luminous Goldfish.

4.1 fry will be provided free of charge, professionally selected, selection of the fish shipped to participants is random and may not be selected or previewed by competitor.


Recommendations and Vendor Disclaimer:

1.Participants must use a separate container to let the fish pass through the oppressive period caused by transportation to avoid cross-contamination. Luminous Goldfish will not bear all the health risks of the fish for those who receive and place the fish directly into the tank with other fish!

2. If the damage to the free fish is caused by the ups company or uncontrollable factors such as bad weather, Luminous Goldfish will not be responsible for any compensation!

3.Please consult Luminous Goldfish within 24 hours for any questions about the status of the fish after receiving the fish, if reported after 24 hours Luminous Goldfish will not be responsible!

4. Luminous Goldfish is donating these fish to show its support of the TGC organization!
