The new 2018 fish are in at the importers, such an exciting time of year. Blue, calico and Lavender Ranchu are really great this year. Also pleasantly surprised that some importers now have some smaller fish. These are way affordable at prices between $25-$45 each.

Younger/smaller fish bought in groups is my thing. you can find some really cool patterns also.

For breeders, most of us now make a list of line and experiment crosses. For me, my experiment are; To put a square tail on a blue Oranda from Chris and Arielle at Waverly Goldfish. Breed Lavender Ranchu and select color variations. Create a F-1 Sakura Bristol line. Play with the Black Bristol Metallics. And try some experimental Veil lines.

I was lucky last week and the season started for me with my red line of metallic veils hand spawning ( adults below ). Over a thousand babies eating like crazy. Yes, Big Fun!

I saw our president Rob Crosby and our membership Chair Joshua McWilliams last weekend. We are still looking for partners and local membership for the 2019 season for shows and educational events. If you go to the web site, the how to article is up for your enjoyment.

Remember, when in doubt, change water!

Until next week
