The third speaker at this years West Coast Goldfish Palooza is our current President Rob Crosby. We are so excited to have him speak this years event… For more information or to purchase tickets go to our website www.goldfish.reeddynamic.com

Born and raised in suburban Baltimore, Maryland, Rob was a fish fanatic from an early age. He spent his youth fishing for minnows and tadpoles in the neighborhood creek and kept all sorts of tropical fish and goldfish. In those days, he also showed and bred Dutch rabbits through his local 4H club and sorely missed the hobby when he had to re-home them all before leaving for college. While Rob had always imagined that he would one day be raising larger animals like cattle or horses, but as it turns out, that’s not easy to do when you live in the city. Fortunately, he rediscovered the goldfish and found this community of like-minded goldfish breeders and keepers, and the hobby has kept his interest for the past 15 years. During this time, Rob served as co-editor of the “Goldfish Report” which was the publication of the former Goldfish Society of America (GFSA), and has also helped to establish local and regional interest groups in the Mid-Atlantic area. Currently, he is keeping Japanese Ranchu and Azumanishiki, while trying to develop a line of calico broadtail telescopes. Having recently retired from a career in the biotech industry, Rob and his partner moved from northern Virginia to Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. They purchased a house there with a roomy garage specifically for the goldfish. This property is fed by well water. Now that he is retired, Rob devotes much more of his time to the goldfish hobby and to the development of The Goldfish Council. Rob’s other interests include volunteering for the Delaware Center for the Inland Bays, oil painting, and swimming.
