Kapil Mandrekar is an aquatic ecologist and spent the early part of his career traveling the world studying the conservation, ecology, and evolution of tropical fish. He has run a commercial fish hatchery and has extensive experience working in the pet industry
Kapil started with of species. Kapil’s father got him into goldfish as a child and has been passionate about them ever since. Currently, Kapil works with Tamasaba goldfish and Bristol Shubunkins and is always expanding his collection. the aquarium hobby in the late 1980s as a young child when his father joined the Southwest Michigan Aquarium Society. Kapil considers himself an “Equal Opportunity Fish keeper” and has kept and bred a wide array Kapil currently runs a fish room with ~ 20 aquariums and a couple of large outdoor ponds.
